Course Description:

Prepare yourself for a unique and essential training experience with our Tactical Emergency Medical Response and Defensive Shooting Integration course. This comprehensive program combines critical emergency medical skills with defensive shooting tactics, equipping you to respond effectively in high-stress situations where immediate action is paramount.

Course Highlights:

Medical Response Essentials:

Learn life-saving techniques such as tourniquet application, Israeli bandage usage, and pressure dressing for controlling bleeding. Understand the proper application of chest seals to manage chest injuries. Explore the use of N.P.A.'s (Nasopharyngeal Airway) for maintaining airway patency. Gain proficiency in utilizing saline, roll gauze, hemostatic agents, medical tape, and pocket masks. 

Integration of Defensive Shooting Tactics:

Understand the principles of defensive shooting in real-world scenarios. Learn how to provide cover fire for a victim and the person administering first aid. Develop strategies for effectively balancing defensive shooting and emergency medical response. Practice scenarios that require immediate defensive action followed by rapid medical intervention. 

Situational Awareness and Decision-Making:

Hone your ability to assess and respond to dynamic situations. Understand the importance of maintaining situational awareness during medical emergencies and defensive encounters. Enhance decision-making skills in scenarios that require a seamless transition between medical response and defensive tactics. 

Practical Application and Scenario-Based Training:

Engage in hands-on exercises that simulate real-world emergencies. Practice integrating medical interventions with defensive shooting tactics. Receive personalized feedback from experienced instructors to refine your skills. 

Team Coordination:

Develop communication skills and coordination with others in a crisis. Understand the role of each team member in providing both medical aid and defensive cover. Enhance teamwork for efficient and effective responses. 

Prerequisites:

Prior experience with firearms and completion of a basic defensive shooting course is recommended.

Requirements:

Participants are required to bring their own firearm, holster, spare magazines, and appropriate safety gear. Medical supplies will be provided for training purposes.

All students will need to bring their own pistol, 150 rounds of ammunition, and a holster.  

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.  No tank tops.  Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and potentially stained as we will be performing many drills with simulated blood.

This course is taught by Terrance Anderson, an active duty EMT in the Los Angeles area and owner of Ambitious Gunner, a medical and firearms training company. 

 All attendees will receive a free C.A.T. tourniquet to use during class and take home!

All attendees will recieve a Stop The Bleed Certification. 

Water is provided but no food is provided.  Students should bring a lunch and snacks.

Note:

Bay Area BGOA is now an official partner of the USCCA.  This means students will have the opportunity to become USCCA members and receive self-defense liability insurance.  Many of our officers and trainers have had this policy even before our club was a USCCA partner.  If you own a gun it's a good idea to look into this.  We will have a USCCA rep on-site the day of the event to discuss what they offer.
