The Bay Area Chapter of the Black Gun Owners Association is a Northern California gun advocacy group focusing mainly on gun rights and training as it relates to the black community. Our goal is to provide safe and effective firearms training, as well as resources, information exchange, and fun group activities in a safe and welcoming environment for all.
We believe it is especially important for people of color to have the skill and means to legally defend themselves if and when it is necessary. We aim to promote and strengthen a sense of community, self-sufficiency, and honor.
The Bay Area chapter of the Black Gun Owners Association also recognizes the critically important roles the women play in our community. We believe that women should have the ability to effectively defend themselves when needed. This is why we sponsor our Queens Only range and training days. Emphasizing equipment and techniques proven to work well for women.
We at the Bay Area BGOA believe in the importance of disaster preparedness. Too often communities of color are disproportionately affected by natural disasters or civil unrest. This is compounded by a lack of disaster preparedness. We will be providing information and resources via our newsletter to help our communities be better prepared for the unknown.
Bay Area BGOA welcomes all who are interested in learning and training in a safe and welcoming environment. We will not tolerate hate or disrespect in any form on our social media presence or at in-person events.
